3. How ScreenshotAI Works

3.1 Screenshot Processing

When you capture a screenshot:

1. The image is temporarily held in your device’s memory
2. It is sent directly to OpenAI’s API using your personal API key
3. Once sent, the image is immediately deleted from local memory
4. No copies are retained anywhere by ScreenshotAI

3.2 API Key Storage

Your OpenAI API key is:

• Stored locally in your macOS Keychain
• Never transmitted to us or any third party besides OpenAI
• Used solely for authenticating requests to OpenAI’s API
• Removable at any time through the app’s settings

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 OpenAI API

ScreenshotAI uses OpenAI’s API services. When you use the app:

• Your screenshots and prompts are sent directly to OpenAI
• OpenAI processes this data according to their Privacy Policy
• OpenAI may retain data for up to 30 days for safety and monitoring purposes
• Your use of OpenAI’s services is governed by your OpenAI account settings and agreements

These permissions are used solely for their stated purposes and do not grant us access to any data beyond what you explicitly choose to capture.
